Chi Omega
Message from Chi Omega
Hi everyone!
My name is Mia Johnston, and I’m one of the two National Leadership Consultants living full-time in Isla Vista to help launch Chi Omega at UCSB. I recently graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder, and my co-resident, Fiona Gallagher, also recently graduated from Northern Arizona University. We work full-time for Chi Omega as National Leadership Consultants and our role is to start this chapter from the ground up—building genuine connections, creating a strong foundation, and finding the incredible women who start the Chi Omega chapter at UCSB.
We’re not just here to launch a sorority—we’re here to start something meaningful. If you’ve ever wanted to be part of something bigger than yourself, to help shape a legacy, and to join a Sisterhood rooted in purpose, now is your moment!
Since we don’t yet have any initiated members at UCSB, Fiona and I will be serving as the chapter’s president, executive board, and advisors while we begin recruiting and supporting our founding class. We’re here to show you what Chi Omega is all about—and we couldn’t be more excited!
Chi Omega is the largest women’s fraternity in the nation, guided by six purposes: Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship, Participation in Campus Activities, Career Development, and Community Service. These purposes are the heart of everything we do—and they’ll shape the foundation we build together at UCSB.
Our national philanthropy is Make-A-Wish®,Chi Omega has proudly volunteered over 1.5 million hours and raised more than $37 million in support of Make-A-Wish®—making a lasting impact on children and families across the country. Philanthropy is just one of the many ways Chi Omega members make an impact—and now that impact is beginning here.
As a founding member, you won’t just join a sorority—you’ll shape one. You’ll be part of something brand new, exciting, and deeply meaningful. From day one, your voice will help define the culture, values, and vision of Chi Omega at UCSB. You’ll have the rare opportunity to build lasting traditions, make your mark, and be remembered as one of the women who started it all.
To anyone considering recruitment, I hope you approach this experience with an open heart and mind. You will find friendships that last a lifetime, moments that help you grow, and a place where you feel truly at home. That’s what Chi Omega has been for us—and we’re ready to share that with you.
We can’t wait to meet you!
With love and excitement,
Mia Johnston & Fiona Gallagher
